Employment Services – Payroll Finance Officer
G07 £30,559 - £32,115
Permanent – Full Time

To be part of the HR & OD team to undertake payroll and pension activities within Employment Services.  To support the delivery of payroll and pensions processes and ensure compliance by processing monthly and annual returns for HMRC, pension bodies, LGPS and Teachers pensions and other third party bodies in an accurate and timely manner, including co-ordinating tasks from TPS and LGPS.  To support reconciliation and balancing of finance and payroll information, and help collate information for key internal and external audits.

To liaise with colleagues responsible for employee transactional work – contracts, absences, leave and other pay and pension related matters and make recommendations to improve systems and processes to ensure compliance.  This role requires number of skills, with a high level of attention to detail, strong analytical skills, working knowledge of payroll legislation specifically, PAYE and National Insurance and pensions.

The post holder will be expected to work within established deadlines, but be able to work flexibly, and be able to re-prioritise their work to meet internal and external demands.
