Technical Officer (Food & Farming Team)
37 hours per week
Salary Scale L08 (£33,366- £36,124 (Pay Award Pending))
Situated on the North East Wales border Wrexham is a progressive local authority and a good place to work. The town has a vibrant centre and is surrounded by rural villages. Wrexham has easy access to the Welsh hills and coastal resorts and the cities of North West England. The post will be based within the Public Protection service.
The Council is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Technical Officer to work in our Food & Farming Team.
The Food & Farming Team encompasses functions of Food Safety, Food Standards, Health & Safety, Animal Welfare and Animal Licensing that forms part of the public protection service of the council.
The successful applicant will provide support to Officers within the team and maintain their own caseload across a diverse range of work areas, to include Food Safety & Standards, Animal Health Animal Feed and Health & Safety. It is expected that this role will primarily be involved with Animal Health and Animal Feed functions including on farm welfare, pet shop licensing and feed hygiene. There may also be opportunities to work in the others areas covered by the team.

Candidates should ideally possess background knowledge and experience of one or more of the functions listed above, however full training will be offered to the successful candidate. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable.
