Acting Headteacher at Ysgol St Dunawd - Secondment opportunity for the 2025 – 2026 academic year

 

To start 1st September 2025

Leadership range : L8-14

 

The Governing Body of Ysgol St Dunawd are looking to appoint an Acting Headteacher for 2025 – 2026 academic year

 

We are looking for a school leader who can nurture, support and inspire our children and our dedicated staff teams. We are looking to appoint an innovative and highly motivated person with excellent leadership skills. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to further their leadership skills and experience.  As this is a temporary secondment appointment, NPQH is not essential.

 

As Acting Headteacher you will be leading a dedicated and passionate team, providing professional leadership to ensure that the schools continue their improvement journeys delivering high-quality education for all our pupils. 

 

The successful candidate should:

Demonstrate strong and dynamic leadership.

Build on the strengths of the two schools in collaboration with staff, pupils and parents.

Model and inspire excellent classroom practice maintaining a strong passion for teaching and learning and support the staff in celebrating their successes.

Motivate, inspire and engage all pupils and staff in the school communities.

Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to nurture positive relationships with all stakeholders.

Show a strong commitment to promoting wellbeing and pupil voice.

Maintain and strengthen the links across the community promoting best practice and positive relationships to further develop the schools as a whole.

Create an environment which secures positive behaviour, respect, tolerance and diversity for all pupils and promotes high standards of achievement.

Be committed to a nurturing approach that supports all of our pupils and their families.
