Salary: G07 £30,559 - £32,115
Contract Type: Term -time, Permanent

Job Purpose

We are looking for a compassionate, skilled, and proactive Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioner to join our dedicated  team working with Wrexham primary schools

The PBS Practitioners will work as part of a PBS team under the supervision of the PBS lead to develop and support School-wide and child centred PBS.  The PBS Practitioner will be responsible for promoting positive behaviour and supporting students with diverse needs, particularly those exhibiting challenging behaviours. They apply the principles of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) to create safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments. Following a graduated response the practitioner will work closely with teachers, students, parents, and other school staff to develop universal, school-wide and individualized behaviour plans that enhance social, emotional, and academic success. Additionally, the goal is to transfer the control of behaviour from external mediators (parents and staff) to internally generated controls. 

 

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, including Noddfa, ALNCo’s, educational psychologists, social workers, and external agencies, to support students with complex needs. Liaise with staff and other stakeholders to develop consistent approaches to behaviour management. Provide coaching, mentoring training and guidance to school staff on the principles and practices of Positive Behaviour Support.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Follow a graduated response to behaviour management.

Conduct functional behaviour assessments and develop personalised PBS plans.

Train and support frontline staff in implementing PBS strategies.

Monitor and review behaviour support plans to ensure positive outcomes and continuous improvement.

Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Promote least restrictive practices and advocate for the rights and choices of the individuals we support.
