The Governors of The School invite serving Headteachers or experienced practitioners holding a NPQH qualification to apply for the role of Headteacher.
Heulfan means “place of sun” and this truly reflects our ethos. Every corner of the school reflects warmth and positivity. We provide an educational setting where every child is an individual and is encouraged to be the best they can be. Where they feel secure and their wellbeing our priority, where inclusivity is lived out every day. All this is only achieved thanks to our highly motivated pupils, dedicated staff, supportive parents and a committed and active governing body
Ysgol Heulfan is situated in the village of Gwersyllt around three miles from Wrexham. We have the beautiful Alyn Waters and Moss Valley on our doorstep. The school is the heart of our community, and we love to get out and about whether that be visiting care homes, delivering fruit and veg grown in gardening club, or learning about money in our local supermarket.
The Governors are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, visionary Headteacher with excellent leadership skills with the commitment and drive to maintain high standards and high levels of achievement.
The successful candidate should:
• Demonstrate strong and dynamic leadership.
• Build on the strengths of our schools.
• Model and inspire excellent classroom practice across the school and maintain a strong passion for teaching and learning.
• Motivate and inspire all pupils and staff in the school community.
• Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to nurture positive relationships with all stakeholders.
• Develop each child’s full potential in all aspects of school life, and promote skills for life.
• Show a strong commitment to promoting wellbeing and pupil voice.
• Maintain and strengthen the links across the three schools promoting best practice and positive relationships to further develop the school as a whole.
• Create an environment which secures effective learning for all pupils and promotes high standards of achievement.
• Be committed to a nurturing approach that supports all our pupils and their families, particularly those with PMLD & SLD (profound and Multiple Leaning Disabilities & Severe Learning Difficulties).
Pre-application visits to the school would be welcomed. For further information and to arrange an appointment for a visit please contact the Headteacher at the school.
