Dear Colleague
Thank you for your interest in working for Gorwelion Newydd.
We are a portfolio Pupil Referral Unit situated in the County Borough of Wrexham, providing education for secondary aged young people who are unable to attend mainstream school. We operate from three sites, namely Stiwdio Pen-y-Cae, Stiwdio Hafod and Haulfan, which specialise in supporting pupil needs relating to behaviour and mental health.
We are passionate about providing children and young people a fantastic opportunity to re-build self-confidence and esteem, in order for children to successfully re-engage with their learning. We have high aspirations for all our children and young people, whatever challenging circumstances they face. We are proud to part of the Wrexham community.
Our staff team is vibrant, innovative and solution focused. We are looking for flexible and adaptable teachers who have ‘drive’ and ambition to succeed. We are looking for excellent classroom practitioners who enjoy the challenge of working with vulnerable pupils who have Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties.
The post will initially be located at our key stage 4 site (Stiwdio Pen-y-Cae) with opportunities to also work at our key stage 3 site (Stiwdio Hafod). We particularly welcome applications from Newly Qualified Teachers who have experience of working with pupils exhibiting challenging behaviour and can teach accredited Physical Education and other vocational courses.
Our web site (www.newhorizons.cymru) should provide further details about the service. If you require further details about the post then I can be contacted by email (Darren.lee@wrexham.gov.uk) to arrange a telephone conversation or you can telephone me directly on 01978 298520
The Council welcomes applications from suitably qualified candidates regardless of race, gender, disability, sexuality, religious belief or age.
The Council is committed to developing its bilingual workforce and welcomes applications from candidates who demonstrate their capability to work in both English and Welsh. Applications submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application submitted in English.
