FLYING START LANGUAGE AND PLAY PRACTITIONER

Grade G05: £25,584 - £26,409 pro rata

Secondment/Temporary Part-time Post 

(30 hours per week until March 31st 2028 and is term-time only) 

 

We have a vacancy for a fixed-term, part-time Language and Play Practitioner to be part 

of the Flying Start team delivering Language and Play activities to parent/carer(s) and children 0 – 4 years old within the Flying Start programme.  The ability to work flexibly and to travel between various settings, schools and service-user homes across Wrexham is essential.

 

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate flexibility of approach; a strong sense of team-work and a high level of understanding of child development. Experience working with parents/carers and young children would be beneficial.  

 

The post will involve delivering high quality Language and Play programmes within the community, childcare settings and in the homes of families and young children living in Flying Start areas. 

 

This post requires enthusiasm, a good understanding of child development and well developed communication skills.

 

The ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh is desirable.

 

Travel between settings is an essential part of the role.

 

A DBS clearance is essential for working within the Flying Start team.

 

Post will commence as soon as possible and will be subject to the usual employment checks and DBS arrangements.
