Are you ready for a career that’s as diverse as it is rewarding? Join Wrexham Council as the Corporate Health & Safety Lead and bring your expertise to a role that spans all Council Departments. In leading and managing the Health and Safety team, you will champion and model positive practices and improvements, you will identify and advise on best practice in Health and Safety, and the impact of changes in the Council's delivery of services to ensure that the Council remains compliant and manages its responsibilities and obligations. You will act as point of contact for liaison with the Health and Safety Executive.
You will support the Health and Safety team to be appropriately qualified and experienced, managing a team which works across the organisation. You will engage with other teams and Managers to ensure that Health and Safety responsibilities are understood and valued, that mechanisms are in place to monitor compliance and performance, and that training and guidance is in place where required.
You will be CMIOSH and hold the NEBOSH diploma (or equivalent), with experience of working in public sector organisations. You will have excellent written and verbal communication, leadership, and inter-personal skills, and feel confident in liaising with internal and external partners at various levels.

If you want to be part of our council and contribute to our ongoing success, have the flexibility, and drive to enable us to innovate, are committed to working as part of a team and striving to deliver exceptional service wherever you can, we would especially like to hear from you.
The Council welcomes applications from suitably qualified candidates regardless of race, gender, disability, sexuality, religious belief or age.
The Council is committed to developing its bilingual workforce and welcomes applications from candidates who demonstrate their capability to work in both English and Welsh. Applications submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application submitted in English.
