The post of Procurement Officer is based within the Council’s Commissioning, Procurement and Contract Management Unit. 

Under the direction of the Strategic Procurement Lead, the post holder will provide a supporting role to the Council’s strategic and operational commissioning procurement and contract management activities. 

Responsible for undertaking a number of key tasks and for providing administrative support to all aspects of the full procurement lifecycle, duties carried out will assist in the delivery of compliant value for money outcomes against the Council’s third party spend activity.
  
The post holder will work closely with Category Managers and Commissioning and Contract Managers employed within the Unit and will undertake a lead role in various topics including management of the Council’s Purchase Card Programme, data analysis work, maintenance of the Council’s Contracts Register and monitoring of a number of corporate contractual arrangements. The post holder will also provide a responsive service to general procurement correspondence received from both internal and external sources.
