Contract:     Full Time, Permanent - 37 Hours per week – Term time only
Grade:         Soulbury 13 - 16 (+3 SPAs as appropriate) 

Make a real difference to Secondary and Post 16 education in Wrexham.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic School Improvement Officer to join our Education and Early Intervention Directorate. This is a high-impact role at the heart of our mission to secure excellent outcomes for all learners.

As a key member of the Education Effectiveness team, you will provide expert challenge, guidance, and support to secondary schools, working closely with headteachers, senior leaders, and governors. You will play a pivotal role in driving school improvement, strengthening leadership, and ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across the system.

The post holders will:

   Lead on secondary school improvement priorities, supporting schools to deliver ambitious and inclusive education.
   Provide professional challenge and advice on leadership, curriculum, and pedagogy.
   Analyse performance data and support schools in setting and achieving aspirational targets.
   Mentor and coach leaders at all levels to build capacity and resilience.
   Plan and deliver high-quality professional learning and facilitate collaborative networks.
   Support schools with inspection readiness and post-inspection improvement.
   Produce high-quality visit reports and feedback through School Improvement and Challenge Meetings.

 We are looking for:
   Significant experience in secondary school leadership or a senior education role.
    A proven track record of driving improvement andraising standards.
    Strong knowledge of curriculum reform, quality assurance, and leadership development.
    Excellent communication, analytical, and relationship-building skills.
    A commitment to equity, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

This post requires the successful candidate to have a full, clean drivers licences and travel between multiple provision sites on a daily basis.
An Enhanced DBS & EWC registration is required for this position.
